Remembrance Assembly - 100 years

As this year marks the centenary of the end of the First World War, Year 6 lead our remembrance assembly at St Mary's Church today.  It was a truly special moment and the children helped us all to stop, remember and reflect on the past, but also to hope for a better future.

Year 6 read some of their letters, accounts and poetry to us, with scenes being recreated in creative silhouettes.

We want to thank Reverend Ben for welcoming us into St Marys'. They have created a remarkable scene in and around the church using poppies made by people from all over the community. It is such an amazing spectacle. Our children were delighted to see their poppies flowing from the font as they entered church today.
