Hello Year 4 and welcome to our new week of learning, 29th June.
What busy learners you all are, I have been really proud of each and every one of you when I have been hearing about your amazing home learning. It has been so lovely to talk to some of you and/or your family again.
This week we are going to be exploring a new text in English, revisit fractions in maths, learn about invertebrates in science, find out more about Viking Gods and Goddesses while also working on our phonics and SPAG.
This week I have updated the music resources from Mr Grove and there are some lovely new ideas. Of course there are also the French, art and yoga resources to explore as well as the new project bingo but this week I have also added a PE section with some physical challenges to explore this week linked to the Herefordshire summer games.
As always Year 4 have a wonderful week, keep in touch through the Y4 email and enjoy your new week of learning,
This week, as always, there are new spellings, rules and patterns to explore. Resources for my group and Mrs Hilldrup's are below, Mr Perkins' group should visit the Y3 resources and other groups will have their own resources.
I wonder how you got on last week with the conjunctions practise? This week we are going to carry on looking at how we can make the best language and punctuation choices possible so that our writing is the most impressive that it can be! We are going to work on pages 94 and 95 which give you the change to practise using plurals and apostrophes correctly.
This week we are going to start a new text written by Kat Pennington based on a bookshop, not just any ordinary bookshop but one which I think will capture your imaginations!
This week we are going to revisit a topic which we last looked at in the spring term = fractions. I wonder what you can remember from our previous work, if you look in your maths book you should be able to see your previous learning. It is always worth going back to previous learning and seeing what you found a challenge last time and maybe talking this through with someone at home before you start this week's work.
This week we are going to be learning more about a group of animals who are known as invertebrates. I wonder how these animals are different to those which we learnt about last week?
This week we are working on the Viking Gods and Goddesses. Last year when we learnt about the Romans and this year in our Ancient Egypt work we have also learnt about important Gods and Goddesses. This time I think that some of the names and stories might be familiar to those of you who enjoy the Marvel stories! I wonder if you can see how the writers of those comics might have been inspired?
