Mrs R-P's and Mrs Loxton's Groups

Today we will revise the suffixes er and est.  In Year 2 you will learn more suffixes so it would be great if you were confident with these before you move up.

Start by reading these er and est words.

slower     slowest    faster   fastest

taller    tallest    smaller   smallest

higher   highest   longer   longest

We can use these er and est words when we are comparing two things.  Here are some examples..

The mouse is smaller than the elephant.

The clown is taller than the girl.

The snail is the slowest.

The cheetah is the fastest.

The snail is slower than the cheetah.  The cheetah is faster than the snail.

Now have a go at writing your own sentences using er and est words.
