It has been another incredibly exciting, busy and productive week across our lovely school. We have appreciated further opportunities to be out in the beautiful Spring sunshine and have an enjoyable time with our friends. We have been excited to hold a 'non-uniform' day today and have raised a wonderful £148.70 towards the Easter Bingo prizes ready for next Friday.
On Thursday, we all had a great time exploring a variety of different activities to celebrate our whole school 'Science Day' with the theme of 'adapt and change'. As you can see, from our photos our children had a wonderful time exploring such creative practical workshops. A huge 'thank you' goes to all of our amazing staff who worked so hard to plan and organise this super day and to Mrs. Hedley for supporting all of the adults to do this.
Our School Council visited our friends at 'Little Orchard' this week with Mrs. Sargeant and were so pleased to have the opportunity to share in some exciting learning opportunities with them. Our school representatives really enjoyed the experience and made new friends during the visit.
Our Year 2 friends wanted to share with you pictures from their Forest School sessions. As you can see, they have had enormous fun exploring the beautiful environment, practising their teamwork and appreciating the practical activities which Vik our Forest School lead had organised. Reception also enjoyed a brilliant 'welly walk' where they had a great longer walk and had a lovely time together.
In our assemblies we have continued to focus on the values of 'perseverance and courage' considering examples of other people who have shown these qualities. On Wednesday, we welcomed back Mr. Sell who asked us to think about different ways that these qualities can be shown when setting ourselves individual challenges and aims. We heard examples of people who have set themselves a significant challenge and had to show both of our values to achieve them.
In this week's sticker assembly we have been able to celebrate such inspiring achievements including: working hard in phonics and making amazing progress, showing courage when faced with difficulty this week, for showing developing confidence whilst swimming, demonstrating perseverance, for settling so well into our school, for showing a significant improvement in their focus during lessons, for showing excellent enthusiasm in science and for completing learning at home regularly and to a high standard. We also celebrated some more 'gone green' Year 4 certificates which is a huge achievement. Congratulations to you all.
We hope that you all have a lovely weekend and we look forward to welcoming you on Monday for the start of our new week.
