This week our lesson have focused on well being and we have been thinking about how we can look after ourselves, others and our planet.
We listened to Have you filled a bucket today? by Carol McCloud and thought about ways in which we could bucket fill. If you want to listen to the book again, I've linked it below. It's a lovely one to share at home as well as at school.
On Tuesday we did a yoga session in PE. Next we thought about how food can keep us healthy. The children were brilliant at telling me what foods we should eat less of and only in small quantities and which foods we should eat more of. They even knew that they should be aiming to eat five pieces of fruit and veg everyday.
Almost all the children tried every piece of fruit on offer and really enjoyed them Some of them were really brave and tried fruit they thought they didn't like!
We finished the week by thinking about taking care of our planet (to coincide with World Earth Day). The children designed posters to encourage us to recycle our paper and our paper towels in class. We are also going to start collecting compost too. They choose they're favourite posters to be laminated and placed by our recycling bin, but so many of their designs were fantastic so I made a display with as many of the other posters as I could fit on the wall (pictures to follow)
On Friday the children ran laps of the playground with Mrs Roberson. They should sleep well tonight!
