I enjoyed speaking to more of you on the phone last week and thank you to everyone who has emailed and shared some of their home learning with me.  Remember you can do this at:

yr3teacher@kington.hereford.sch.uk

Don't forget to see what your friends have been up to in the Photo Gallery

I have signed everyone up to a website called Classroom Secrets.

Your username is '362002' followed by your first name (e.g. 362002ben)

The password is 'kington'

The Oak National Academy and BBC Bitesize Daily sites provide really nice lessons each day, if you like a clear daily / weekly structure.

' Wake Up! ' from Out of the Ark Music @ Home (Words on Screen Lyric Video)

Move-it Monday - ' Wake Up! ' This is an iconic song that has been sung at the beginning of many a school day up and down the country and around the world.

English Tasks:

Please focus on these tasks during this week, which are all based on VE Day.  Remember you can do them in any order and on any day, but it would make most sense to do some reading about it first, followed by the writing tasks.  Watch my video below for more details / ideas for these tasks.

1) Reading Tasks

i) Please read some of the information below about VE Day and talk about them with an adult.  There are also some clips and website links to check out too.

ii) VE Day Reading Comprehension text & answers. You could use the Small PDF website to type onto the PDFs and email them back to me.
ii) Independent Reading - Please continue to read at least three times a week.  You can access great free resources using these websites.

2) Writing Tasks:

VE Day

I have included a wordmat that has some of the key words / spellings which may help with some of the writing tasks. You could use the Small PDF website to type onto the PDFs and email them back to me.

i) VE Day Thoughts = Talk about your thoughts to the questions on the sheet.  Try to do this with a grown up.  You can write any ideas onto the sheet.

ii) VE Day Diary = Use what you have read and talked about together to have a go at writing a diary entry.

3) SPaG - Apostrophes for missing letters

Please use pages 50 and 51 from your SPaG books.  You might be able to find some activities linked to this on Classroom Secrets or BBC Bitesize.

4) Phonics / Spellings

If you work with me for phonics, then our word list this week looks at words that have a short 'uh' sound even though they are spelt with the letters 'ou'.

I have uploaded these words onto Spelling Frame so you can play some games and practise them.  The word list code is 28704  (https://spellingframe.co.uk/guest/word-list/28704)

I have also put on this week the PowerPoint that accompanies the word list, as well as the wordsearch.

Optional:  Extra tasks from Classroom Secrets.

2) Times Table Rock Stars

Please continue to practise your times tables.
