Welcome to our weekly news update from across our lovely school. We have had another productive and busy week with exciting learning opportunities being explored by all of our classes.
This week, we have welcomed Paul, Peter and Paul who have supported some of our Year 5 children as they have worked toward their Levels 1 and 2 'Bike-ability'. We have all been impressed by the commitment and focus which the children showed throughout the sessions and we celebrated their achievements in our Friday assembly.
Year 4 have completed their 'Peace Education' workshops and said a huge 'Thank you' to the volunteers for their time, hard work and enthusiasm for these sessions. Year 4 have been interested each week to explore the theme linked to peace and positive values particularly enjoying the circle time activities.
Our after-school theatre group, who work alongside Emily from 'The Courtyard', shared their performance piece this week with their families, which was brilliant.
In our assemblies, we have made a start on our new value for April which is 'Respect' and in our classrooms we have thought about what this word means especially as it is one of our 3 focus rules - Ready, Respectful and Safe. We are sure that we will be able to spot this value across our school in many different ways and at different times of the day.
We also welcomed Hannah from Checkpoint who shared with us the next part of the Easter story and helped us all to get even better at the speedy song which she has taught us!
In our Friday assembly we were able to celebrate working hard in all lessons, for sharing fantastic ideas with the rest of the class, for trying hard to be the best friend that they can be, for wonderful reading, for brightening other people's day, for pushing themselves to do an activity which might be challenging and never giving up, for being an amazing 'Young Leader' and for making a sustained positive effort in maths. We also presented 2 more 'Gone Green' multiplication certificates to our Year 4 children. 'Well done' to you all.
Next week, we look forward to our enrichment morning on Tuesday and achievement assembly on Friday and other lovely Easter related activities!
Today, it is our Easter Bingo (eyes down for 6pm) and we look forward to seeing many of you there.
We hope that everyone has a super weekend and we all look forward to welcoming you to our last week of the term on Monday.
