Weekly News 12th September 2025

Welcome everyone, to our weekly news from across our lovely school. We hope that you enjoy hearing about our achievements and events from the week.

All of the adults in school have been so impressed with how well our children are coping with the changes around school and how quickly the new routines have become normal. Thank you to you all for listening so carefully to the instructions and following them so well, because it is really helping to keep our school the safe, happy place that it is.

We have had a great first full week of the new term and in all areas of our school everyone is working with purpose, enjoyment and showing their best.

In our assemblies this week we have focused on the values of kindness and friendship and considered further how we can demonstrate these through our own friendships and choices. With Mrs Bretherton, on Monday, we thought about the idea of being a 'good friend' and what we each look for in a positive friendship. We agreed that having fun with each other, being patient and thoughtful and valuing each other's voice and ideas were very important qualities to think about.

Year 6 volunteers have impressed everyone today as they delivered their House Captain speeches, highlighting the strengths that they feel they could bring to the role and, after careful consideration, the rest of the school from Y2 upwards, have voted for their chosen Captains.  We would like to congratulate and thank each of the Y6 children who put themselves forward for election. At the end of the day, the results were announced and House Captain badges awarded.

In today's Headteacher assembly we have heard so many different reasons which are all fantastic in their own right and amazed everyone who heard about them. This week they include showing our best in all that we do, demonstrating fantastic friendships, impressing class adults with how well they have settled into their new class, being a super consistent role model for others, being a positive person to be around and for showing the most brilliant effort in their own work. Huge congratulations to you all.

We hope that you have all had a chance to see the super progress that the build team have made with the building development, and we have been excited to see the beginnings of the walls emerging. We are looking forward to seeing how the building changes every week and we will keep you up to date with the progress.

We hope that everyone has a wonderful weekend and if any of our families are going to the Kington Show tomorrow, don't forget to come and visit our school stall, we would love to see you.

We look forward to seeing everyone on Monday for another busy and exciting week.
