We would love to tell you more about the final week of this term, which has been very busy!

This week, we have been busy thinking about the end of term and saying a fond 'good luck and thank you' to our amazing Year 6s, Mrs Redfern and Mrs Turner. We have had many moments of celebration and reflection about what a fantastic year this has been for our school.

Please be aware that an end-of-term newsletter has been emailed to families today which will give you more detailed information about many important themes and updates.

Throughout the week, we have enjoyed coming together to reflect on the year and the individual progress, both personally and academically, that we have all made. On Monday, we congratulated those who had achieved their latest house point badge and thought about all of the monthly values which we have learnt about throughout the year. After school, we had great fun with Year 6 at their leavers celebration and they enjoyed their hot dogs and water fights!

On Wednesday, we congratulated two children from each class who were chosen to have the half-termly achievement certificate. The reasons for these certificates were fantastically varied although key phrases and ideas were common across many, including positive friendships, engagement with learning, making significant progress and being a wonderful role model. Congratulations to you all.

We also revealed the class who won the half-termly treat for having the best rate of attendance, and it was Year 3 who were very excited to start planning a special treat for September! We were pleased to share that our overall whole school attendance rate has improved this year, and we appreciate family support with this.

Thursday was when we celebrated Year 6 with their families and announced the winners of both our Values Cup and Jubilee Cup. Year 6 had organised an entertaining assembly for their families and were excited to receive their own Records of Achievement and Yearbooks. We would like to thank Year 6 for being such a fabulous year who have been such a positive and hard-working group. We look forward to hearing how you are all enjoying the transition to your high schools in September.

We would also like to thank all of the children and adults across school who have helped with the huge operation which it has been to clear areas of school that are going to be affected by the building work and for all of KS2 to move classrooms around ready for September.

We would like to take this opportunity to let everyone know about the exciting event at Kington library over the holidays with the return of their 'reading challenge'. Please use these links to find out more about the challenge and other ideas for reading during the holidays.
