Welcome to our weekly catch up of news from our busy and hard working school.

Even though the weather this week has not been very bright or cheerful, life at Kington Primary has continued to be positive and productive. We would like to say 'well done' to all of our classes who have coped so brilliantly this week with wet playtimes and lunchtimes.

On Monday we were so pleased to hear about the number of House-point badges that were awarded across school. It was amazing to see how hard children are working towards their next badges. 'Congratulations' to you all. We were also thinking with Mrs Bretherton about 'hope', through the story of a seed who needed to grow and how only with hope was this possible. Our Year 6 House Captains were fantastic at helping to act out the story for the rest of the school.

On Wednesday, we welcomed Hannah from 'Checkpoint', who spoke to us about how salt is used as an image in the Bible and that for Christians it is an important symbol for how they can make life better for themselves and others. Hannah linked this idea to our value of 'hope' and it was interesting for us to all hear how this value is reflected for Christians in several different stories found in the Bible.

Today we have been pleased to celebrate our class Head Teacher sticker awards and the variety of reasons have continued to impress us all. This week we have congratulated children who have shown wonderful progress with their writing skills, produced stunning artwork, written the most amazing poetry and who are consistently reflecting our school values in all that they do. We have also heard about children who have been teaching their own class vocabulary in a different language to English, someone who has been so inspired by the topic work in their class that they have gone home and carried on exploring the theme and children who have been showing a much stronger understanding in their maths work. A huge 'Congratulations and Well Done' to you all.

Our Year 2 and Year 4 art project, alongside Sarah and Suzy from 'Meadow Art', continues to develop and is an amazing opportunity for our children to be part of. Despite the weather, they created beautiful and inspiring artwork which continues to link to the development of expressive vocabulary.

We are all really pleased with how our building project continues to develop and take shape. Our brilliant build team continue to work with such determination and, as you can see, the different areas are really taking shape.

We hope that everyone has a super weekend and that the weather improves for us all. We look forward to seeing you all on Monday for another brilliant week together.
