We are pleased to share with you updates from another incredible week here at Kington Primary School.
What a super week this has been! We have been so excited across school as we have been busy preparing for our summer show, which we are sharing with audiences this afternoon and this evening. 'What a Knight' was thoroughly enjoyed by our younger pupils at the dress rehearsal on Tuesday, and they were amazed at the high quality of acting and singing that Key Stage 2 shared. We are all really looking forward to sharing this show with our friends and families at our two performances today and can't wait to hear how they have enjoyed it.
On Wednesday, Mrs Welson went with 63 children and 7 members of staff to the Herefordshire summer games at the leisure centre, which we think is our biggest ever team! Everyone had such a wonderful day celebrating sport. There were about 2,000 children and young leaders at the event and to be part of this special experience was quite something. We took teams to the touch rugby, multi-skills, hockey, arena, girls football and tri-golf events. At every event, we were complimented on our positivity towards sports, good manners and enthusiasm and all of the adults who accompanied the teams were proud of how our teams reflected our Kington values.
On Thursday, we held our transition morning where we all visited our new classrooms, teachers and support adults ready for September. There was a lovely atmosphere across school and everyone had a great morning exploring their new learning spaces and having the chance to get a feel for their new year group. Well done everyone for being so positive about this opportunity.
In our Head Teacher sticker assembly today we have been able to celebrate with each other children who have been chosen for fantastic art, for being an amazing friend, for working hard to improve the punctuation in their writing, for dealing well with change, for learning all of our show songs so well and leading others in the singing, for always trying their best, for representing our school so well at the summer games and for having fantastic energy on stage during the show.
We hope to see lots of you later on at the show and hope that you really enjoy it. We hope that everyone has a lovely weekend and we look forward to seeing you all on Monday.
