We would like to welcome everyone to our weekly catch up of news from across our super school.

Unfortunately, we are having some technical difficulties with our uploading of pictures this week, we are hoping that this will all be sorted for next week. Thank you for your patience.

Although this has been a shorter week, we have been just as busy and productive as if we had been together for the normal five days!

On Wednesday, Hannah from 'Checkpoint' led our assembly and continued her theme of 'superheroes' for Christians found in the Bible and shared the story of Noah. Everyone listened respectfully to Hannah's sharing of the story of Noah and the ark and were impressed with the support given by a great Y5 actor. The assembly was a little bit different to normal as there was also some water sprayed to represent the rain falling for 40 days! Hannah explained why, for her, Noah is one of the important Bible superheroes and the key qualities that she believes are shown through his story.

Year 2 have completed their Forest School sessions and had a super time with Vik. They really enjoyed exploring the natural space and trying out the exciting activities which Vik had organised for them. Thank you to Vik and the Year 2 team who have helped to make these sessions so fantastic for Year 2.

Class photographs on Thursday were very successful, and we look forward to sharing these with you. Thank you for supporting all of our children to look so smart in their uniform. We would like to remind you of our uniform expectations and these are found in the 'Parents' section on the website.

We hope that people have had the chance to see our beautiful artwork which is on display in 'Border Bean' as part of the recent festival. We are sure that you will agree that they look wonderful on display, and we are very proud to be able to showcase the artwork of our brilliant children.

Today we have been marking and celebrating David Attenborough's 100th birthday. Classes have been exploring local natural areas and learning more about his incredible life. Thank you to everyone who was able to contribute to our '100' collection for the World Wildlife Fund in honour of this amazing birthday and to reflect on all that David Attenborough has done to educate, promote and care for our natural world. We will let you know, as soon as we can, how much we have raised in his name.

In our whole school assembly this morning we have been excited to congratulate the winners from each class and have been pleased to hear about the reasons for their stickers. We have heard about children who have worked independently and impressed their teacher with their work, focused on their own behaviour choices and made real progress with this and for being a fantastic role model. We have also been impressed to hear about children who have been putting in a tremendous effort into their written presentation, being such a positive member of their class, showing the most brilliant manners around school and for being so focused on their school work and revision ready for the SATs next week.

Today, we also heard about the brilliant playtime football competition which some of our House Captains have been running. The winners of the Year 5 and 6 competition were announced as Scotland. Congratulations to you all. In the Years 3 and 4 competition, it was so incredibly close between Ireland and Wales that it came down to goal difference with the winners being...... Wales. Well done to everyone who took part in this competition and a huge 'Thank you' to the amazing House Captains who have dedicated their time and effort into running this competition.

We hope that everyone has a great weekend and for those of you who are going to the fair that you have lots of fun! We will see you all on Monday for another super week ahead of us. It is SATs week for our incredible Year 6s, and we wish them all lots of luck and hope that they enjoy their special breakfasts in school to help them with the week.
