Welcome everyone to our weekly update of news from across our wonderful school.
This week in school has been such a busy, exciting and brilliant week with a mixture of Roman soldiers marching, play practices, trips to see wonderful animals and hearing about our sponsor pups! We would love to share with you all more details about our week.
At the moment, we are not able to add more than 1 picture to the new blog. We are working hard to change this and are looking forward to when we can share more. However, for now please do visit class pages for updates on the most recent learning.
Across Key Stage 2, the most superb effort is being put into preparing for our end-of-year show and tickets for 'What a Knight' are now on sale at the school office. Year 6, in particular, are giving everything that they can to our practices, and we are so excited about sharing it next week with an audience.
Reception class enjoyed a fantastic class trip to the Small Breeds Farm, which we are so lucky to have as part of our local community. They had a wonderful time and were amazed at the different animals that they met and had so much to say about the trip for the rest of the week.
Year 3 have had fun with their DT Roman shields and enjoyed marching as if they were part of the Roman Army and their shields looked wonderful.
In assembly today, not only did we celebrate the huge achievements of our Head Teacher sticker children, but we also heard the latest news about our sponsored guide dogs, Jack and Custard! We could not believe how much the puppies have grown and the new skills which they have mastered. In assembly next week we are also going to share the video diary of their latest training, and we are sure that we are going to be impressed.
We were also very pleased to be able to congratulate our sticker winners today and the reasons for them were, as ever, varied and impressive. This week they included being the most brilliant stand-ins during play practice, for always being kind and never giving up, for showing really impressive writing skills, for increasing self-confidence, for being very brave when injured and for showing superb sportsmanship. What fantastic reasons. We also shared 3 more 'Going Green' multiplication certificates for Y4, which means that they are able to answer questions quickly and accurately.
Congratulations everyone, you all had an enormous, well-deserved, round of applause from the whole school!
We would also like to thank our 'Friends' group who have organised the most wonderful summer fayre, and we hope that everyone has a super time and that we raise a fabulous sum of money. As we heard in assembly today, all of the monies raised by our Friends group go into supporting our great school through a huge variety of things. This year, their support has helped every class trip with the cost of transport, purchased our new anaphylaxis kit, helped to restock and expand our reading books for home, supported resources to help with writing skills across school and much more.
Whatever you are planning for this weekend, we hope that you have a super time and look forward to seeing everyone again on Monday. Next week we will continue with our busy plans, which will include the Herefordshire Summer Games on Wednesday for some of us from Years 4,5 and 6, induction morning across school on Thursday and, of course, our KS2 show on Friday.
