Welcome everyone to our weekly round-up of some of the highlights of our week together here at Kington Primary.
We had a wonderful Harvest assembly up at St. Mary’s on Tuesday and the air was filled with songs and poems about fruits, vegetables, autumn and farmers. Reverend Sally told us all about how much she is enjoying living in our area, which is so naturally beautiful and where the seasons can truly be seen and celebrated. A special 'thank you' to Mr. Sell for playing the organ for us, which is always a real treat to hear. As part of the assembly, we were able to collect items for the food bank, and we were so grateful for the amazing donations. Thank you everyone.
In our assemblies in school this week, we have focused on positive manners and considered different scenarios and thought about how we might deal with situations politely. Around school, it has been delightful to hear and see the fantastic manners being shown and shared by all of our children. We have also welcomed Reverend Sally and Reverend Philippa, who shared the story of Adam and Eve with us all and, of course, had the spectacular candle to finish, which always impresses us!
Our building work continues to progress well, and we have all been so excited to see the roof starting to take shape. Thank you, as always, to our fabulous build team.
Today, our sticker assembly involved fewer stickers than normal as our friends in Years 5 and 6 were taking part in the annual walk as part of Kington walking festival. Thank you to Mr Tony Collier for leading the walk. A wonderful time was had by all. We will share photos of this great opportunity next week.
For the rest of the school, we enjoyed sharing an upbeat autumn song, hearing all about superb learning and hard work across school and shared the latest updates from our sponsored guide dogs, Jack and Custard. Everyone was so surprised to see how much both Jack and Custard had grown and the new skills which they have mastered. Both of our puppies are now ready to head to the Guide Dogs training centre where they will ultimately be paired with their new owner, an exciting time for everyone involved. We will continue to share the updates as we receive them.
The stickers which were awarded today were given for such wonderful reasons, including showing impressive PE skills, especially when dribbling a ball, for doing some brilliant counting, being a fantastic role model for others, writing the most enjoyable stories, for showing positive focus in lessons and for terrific manners in all that they do. Huge congratulations to you all.
Don’t forget that it is our ‘Open Evening’ on Tuesday and our ambassadors look forward to helping to show visitors around our learning spaces.
We hope that everyone has a lovely weekend and can enjoy the beautiful autumn weather. We look forward to seeing you all again on Monday.
