We would like to welcome everyone to our new school year here at Kington Primary School.
We have had a super first three days together and have been ever so impressed with how all of our children have adapted to their new learning spaces and are all already showing their best.
We have been so pleased to welcome new children and parents into our Nursery and Reception classes, and they have all amazed the Early Years staff team with how ready they have all been for their first steps in school.
We have also welcomed new members of staff to our team, including Mrs Snow, who is working as our Year 5 class teacher, Mrs Smith as our Y3 1:1 support, Miss Hemuss as our new lunchtime team member and Mr Painter, who has joined our site team. Thanks to all of our staff and children who have already made them each feel very much part of the Kington Primary School community.
This week, we have shared a 'welcome back' assembly where the adults also admitted to feeling a little nervous on Wednesday! Our new Year 1 class were very impressed with the lovely singing from the rest of the school as they sang 'Just Sing'.
Today we have all enjoyed a visit from some very talented musicians from the 'Music on the move' who came and played different instruments for us and helped us to understand how each instrument is similar or different to another. Everyone was in awe at the different musical pieces which they shared with us and the group were very impressed with the quality of questions which we asked them. Thank you to Mrs Argyle for organising this for us.
At the beginning of our special musical assembly, we also shared a warm 'Good luck, thank you and enjoy your retirement' to Mrs Bachmann. We thanked Mrs Bachmann for all of her hard work and support working with families across our school. She was very pleased to receive her Headteacher sticker!
Please be sure to have read an important letter from Mrs Bretherton which has been emailed home today. Please note that this blog will now be published on a Monday.
Please remember that any completed summer holiday reading bingos should be returned to class teachers so that prizes can be awarded next week.
We hope that everyone enjoys a lovely weekend, and we look forward to welcoming you all back on Monday morning for the first full week of the new school year.
