In English, we have been learning how to use reporting clauses and inverted commas when writing direct speech. We explored how to punctuate speech correctly and practised adding reporting clauses to show who was speaking and how they spoke.

The children enjoyed creating their own sentences and experimenting with different ways to report what a character said!
