World Book Day & More!

Another busy week with things being tied together with World Book Day on Thursday.

On Wednesday, Reverend Ben brought to assembly many of his friends and colleagues to share an 'Open the Book' assembly.  This was the first time we had held one and the children certainly do not want it to be the last.  A story was shared with the help of some drama and the children were able to join in too.

Thursday was of course World Book Day.  We welcomed the Courtyard to work with each class on a poem from 'The Lost Words, by Robert Macfarlane & Jackie Morris'.  This is a lovely collection of nature inspired poems and pieces of art.  The children did some lovely work to accompany it.  Many classes also met during the day with their 'Buddy Class' to share one of their favourite books.

Today, we acknowledged the hard work of this week's winners of the Head teacher Awards who, as always, have found a way to shine and impress their teacher that week.
