We had a lovely end to the Spring Term with children receiving their Achievement Certificated for so many fantastic things, we are so proud of them. Our amazing swimmers also received their badges. The Easter raffle was drawn with children from across the school winning prizes. Thank you for supporting us, we raised £150. We were also able to tell the children that we reached our £400 target for Comic Relief thanks to you all. The children are looking forward to a happy, safe and fun holiday and we will look forward to seeing them all back on Monday 13th April.

Some of our children headed off, with their families, to Madley Environmental Centre to watch the Eclipse while back at school we used pin-hole technology and gadgets to view this amazing event safely. The cold and the dark gave us lots to talk about and ponder on. A special day for our Headteacher Award Winners to receive their stickers. We even had our wonderful singers at Lady Hawkins' taking part in the Herefordshire Spring Sing. They are all brilliant.

    Wednesday 18th March

We helped organise a super maths Puzzle Day involving eight schools from across Herefordshire. Four children from each school came together to discover the power of numbers. It was fantastic to share knowledge and work together solving the puzzles.

Year 1 and 2 are all safely back from a wonderful day at St Fagans Museum. They were all so excited to see for themselves all of the houses they have been learning about in history. And the sun shone all day for us!! More photo's to follow on class pages.

Its lovely when two things come together and we can celebrate Headteacher Stickers and raise money for Comic Relief. We congratulated the children and also reflected on why we were all wearing red today. We finished assembly with a very catchy song and made lots of fantastic funny faces. We are hoping to have raised nearly £400.

After all the preparation and planning the children in year Five totally transformed the school hall and treated their friends and families to a delicious three course Mexican meal. They  greeted their guests, ran the cloakroom and the soft drinks bar. They took orders, served, cleared tables and washed up. Chef Ian and Chef Henry were very impressed with them all and everyone had a really lovely evening. The 'flashdance' was another great surprise.

We all just love it when Enrichment Day comes around. The children are brilliant working in mixed age groups and learning so much from each other. Yoga, team building in preparation for the boat challenge on the river, animation, gardening and art are already well under way with more to come. Keep an eye on the slide show.

This year instead of Chef Ian coming to us we went to him to prepare for this years Pop Up Restaurant. The theme this year is Mexican so the Year Five pupils practiced their chocolate and chilli pie and salsa using a very professional kitchen with all its gadgets. Our trainee waiter and waitresses laid the tables in the restaurant and are ready to turn our hall into our very own Mexican Restaurant on Thursday. What a great experience.

It is getting harder and harder for the staff to choose the Headteacher Sticker awards as the children are all working so well and contributing to the school in such a positive way. We hope that every child will receive at least one during their time with us. Here are the last couple of weeks recipients.
