Our School Value for May is Cooperation.
Our Core Values: Hope, Trust, Courage & Perseverance, Respect, Cooperation, Responsibility, Kindness & Friendship, Honesty, Peace and Understanding.
We explore our core values in our school and class assemblies and look out for them in our daily practice, earning Values Vouchers and Beads as we go.
The children (and adults!) were treated to a wonderful show this afternoon.
Everyone was entertained during this exciting adaptation of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. There were songs, jokes and fantastic dances that kept us all joining in.
Thank you to the talented cast for their show, to our Friends committee for organising the event and use of the Football Club, and to all the children for making so much noise!
Sunshine and smiles to end our week as we said well done to our oldest children for their achievements in swimming and to our Headteacher Sticker award winners for being amazing. There were several children this week who are showing brilliant skills and a fantastic attitude not only during the school day but at after school clubs and at home.
We were also treated to music by one of our Year Five pupils who is learning the piano and performed beautifully.
Another super week with a tortoise themed assembly led by Year Two that also included great ways to stay fit and keep active.
The whole school came together to think about Remembrance Sunday, Armistice and why we wear a red poppy at this time. Year Six shared with us letters from soldiers and their families, poems and poignant information. They led two minutes silence when the hall fell silent to remember.
A group from Year Six then walked to the war memorial to think about their roles and responsibilities at the Remembrance Parade on Sunday.
To finish the day our School Council members helped the Mayor of Kington officially declare the newly refurbished play park at the recreation ground open. They all joined together to cut the ribbon. A busy day at school to finish the week.
Year Four shared with us a sample of the work they are doing in class. It included an amazing 'Clean School' rap, an electrical circuits demonstration, art work of fantastic Hindu temples and comparison work between the areas of Herefordshire and Guernsey.
It was a lovely way to say a sad goodbye to Miss Patto who is leaving us to follow her really creative talents. We wish her lots of luck in her new ventures and will miss her.
It was so lovely to be able to have two Headteacher Sticker assemblies in one week and congratulate so many children. Today we said well done for amazing handwriting, mathematics, writing, attitude and perseverance as well as acknowledging those children who had represented the school so well at Lady Hawkins' this week. We are so proud of them all.
Running Club were able to make the most of a bit of sunshine and are certainly challenging themselves to run that bit further and bit faster. Well done.
