Our School Value for May is Cooperation.

Our Core Values: Hope, Trust, Courage & Perseverance, Respect, Cooperation, Responsibility, Kindness & Friendship, Honesty, Peace and Understanding.

We explore our core values in our school and class assemblies and look out for them in our daily practice, earning Values Vouchers and Beads as we go.

We had a very busy Friday assembly today! First we have our Headteacher Sticker winners who have all showed wonderful kindness and friendship throughout the week. The words 'role-model' was mentioned so many times as our teachers shared their choices today and the children were very proud of themselves.  The Values Beads are mounting up too and it's so lovely to hear all the reasons they are being awarded every day.

Thank you to our new librarian team from Year 4 who have volunteered to look after the library every day. It's a wonderful space in the school and we look forward to seeing you in your new roles.

Our new House Captains (voted for by the whole school last week after Year 6 made some very impressive speeches) had their first assembly in role today so, after some training, they presented the house point badges for their house. It's a nerve-wracking time but they were brilliant!  They have also launched a new inter-house competition where every child from Year 1 up to Year 6 can make their own instrument at home or in school and then can join their house team in an orchestra - led by our new House Captains of course.  An exciting competition to start the year with and we can't wait to hear their compositions.

    Have a great weekend everyone.

What a fantastic start to the new school year!  All our children have come in and settled really well, despite the heat. Thank you for sending them in with sun hats and water bottles so they can keep hydrated and play safely in the sun.

Our first Headteacher's Sticker assembly celebrated lots of children showing our kindness and friendship values as well as listening hard and giving thoughtful answers in discussions.  We have also introduced our new 'Values Vouchers' for spotting our values in action, which some children have earnt and added a bead to the Values Jar.  We will count these up at the end of each month and see which House Team is demonstrating the values the best! Well done everyone and have a wonderful weekend. If you are planning to visit the Kington Show tomorrow, please come and find our area, say hello and enjoy some crafts.
