Tue 21 Apr 2020 Mrs Bretherton

We're making the most of the sunshine today by getting out and planting.  Thank you so much to everyone at J & P Turners Garden Centre in Kington, who have donated and delivered some fantastic plants and compost this morning.  We have already planted the marigolds by the reception area and have had a go at identifying some the herbs that will go in our nursery and eco gardens.

Have a look at our 'walking water' experiment that we left overnight too - what does it remind you of?

On Wednesday, the children studied the artist, Rousseau and created some of their own jungle work.  In addition, the children made a stunning rainbow to display, giving hope to people as they walk by.

Thursday was St George's Day.  The children enjoyed using stop-motion animation on the iPads to recreate the story of England's patron saint.

Fri 17 Apr 2020 Mrs ACL Phillips
We have certainly been blessed with beautiful sunshine over the past couple of weeks and I have really enjoyed being connected with school through the blog and the class pages. Thank you for all your contributions, hard work and positivity. This morning I have recorded another video for you all, which can be seen in our Video Resource Centre. I do start by saying it's a short one and then just enjoy talking to you all so it is about five minutes long. Sorry but you know how I love to talk and some things do not change! Enjoy the weekend and welcome to the Summer Term.
  • Easter

    Thu 16 Apr 2020 Mr D Perkins

The weather continues to make our school a happy place to be and play.

Today some of us decorated beautiful butterflies and we even spotted some real ones in the garden area.

We all joined in congratulating Captain Tom Moore on his efforts and we were so amazed and pleased to see his total money raised to support the NHS climb and climb and climb!  We made our own cards/posters to show our appreciation. #makeacardfortom

During the afternoon, we enjoyed some Bingo.  Unfortunately we had to cancel our Easter Bingo this year, so we thought we would have our own mini Easter Bingo in school - with chocolate egg prizes.

  • End of Term

    Wed 08 Apr 2020 Mr D Perkins

The children in school continued to work hard and enjoy the opportunities provided by the staff.

On Wednesday, the children did some collages inspired by Henri Matisse. Later, they made some lovely and very thoughtful cards that will be delivered to residents at The Garth

On Friday the children took advantage of the sunshine and worked outside for a while, doing some lovely chalk drawings.

We hope you all enjoy the Easter holiday.  Remember there are not any set home learning tasks to complete during the break.  You can of course continue to work on previous week's work.  Every class page will have a serparate 'Easter Holiday Challenges' page in their Home Learning section, with optional activities you can work through.

    Thu 02 Apr 2020 Mr D Perkins

Wow!  We have had some lovely photos sent to us over the first week that show just how much you have been up to.  Here are just a few.  You can see more in your 'Home Learning' zones.

Mrs Phillips has also recorded a new message for the children, which can be viewed in our Video Resource Centre.  In school, after viewing the video, the children made their own Achievement Certificates for friends and family to recognise their hard work in these challenging times.
