  • Captain Tom's '100 Challenge' day

Fri 30 Apr 2021 Mrs Bretherton

We've had such a busy day in school today, from our PE '100' circuits run by Mrs Roberson, games designed and created by our Year 6 pupils to all the activities Year 6 have chosen to do to remember Captain Tom's legacy.  They have completed 100 minutes of litter-picking around the town, 100 minutes of silence - which also included an assembly by the House Captains! - and creating 100 compliments bags to share with the local shops.  Thanks to all your wonderful donations, we have already raised over £100 at the gates this morning and we're up tp £175 on our JustGiving page (look up KPS Class 6BT if you are able to make a donation). We will let you know of the grand total once we know how much the Year 6 games raised next week.

As well as all of this, we had our Headteacher's stickers and announced our Easter bonnet and egg prize winners for the competition run by the Friends of KPS.  Well done all - and have a lovely long weekend to you all too.

  • Headteacher's Stickers and 'Looking after ourselves' week

Fri 23 Apr 2021 Mrs Bretherton

We've been so lucky with the weather today and it's been fantastic to be able to get outside and enjoy so many activities that help us to explore our theme for this week 'Looking after ourselves'.  We've focused on our physical and mental health by taking part in a daily run and exploring how to overcome our fears as well as designing nutritious lunchboxes and making a range of snacks for us to try.

Congratulations to all of our children who received a Headteacher's sticker today - they were so proud to wear them as the photos show.  Thank you all for a lovely start to the Summer term and we hope you have a pleasant weekend.

  • End of Spring Term celebrations

Thu 01 Apr 2021 Mrs Bretherton

So much going on in school today to get ready for the Easter holidays!

Firstly, each class proudly congratulated their classmates who received their achievement certificates in a mini-assembly in the classrooms.  Then, we announced the talented winners of the Easter poster competition run by Lynhales Nursing Home, whose prizes were presented by none other than the Easter Bunny, of course!  A huge thank you to the residents and staff at Lynhales for organising the competition, everyone who entered enjoyed producing their posters, and to the Easter Bunny for stopping by. The children absolutely loved seeing you!

We would like to wish you all a very happy Easter and we will enjoy hearing about your holidays on Monday 19th April. Take care everyone.
