Activity 1

Here’s another rhyme about a pet. With your adult you can say it, or you can sing it to the tune of ‘Bingo’ that we sing at school.

I know a cat with perky ears,
And Kitty is her name-o.
K-I-T-T-Y, K-I-T-T-Y, K-I-T-T-Y,
And Kitty is her name-o.
She makes a sound and it's "meow,"
And Kitty is her name-o.
K-I-T-T-Y, K-I-T-T-Y, K-I-T-T-Y,
And Kitty is her name-o.

Activity 2

Today I have made a pet shop. Have a look at my shop. What pets (and teddies) have I got for sale? How much are they? Which one would you like to buy?

How many pets can you see in my pet shop? You might have to look carefully as one is lying very close to another one! Do you think any are real? Yes – the two cats are my real cats, Albie and Luna!

Which pet is the cheapest? Which are the most expensive? If you wanted to buy them both, how much would they cost? With your grown up you can play pet shops with your real money. Don’t forget to ask politely like Hassim did the other day. What would you like to buy?

Can you make your own pet shop? You can use your teddies or toys and make labels to show how much they cost. Don’t forget to use pence sign, e.g. 10p. Send me your pictures on Tapestry and tell me which of my pets you would like to buy!
