It's always busy in the last week of any half term and this week was no exception! Our first Enrichment and Values day of the school year was on Tuesday and the children were very excited to be finding out more about the Harmony principle they would be exploring that day (each group will explore the six principles of harmony and sustainability throughout the year in their mixed class Enrichment groups: Cycle, Diversity, Adaptation, Interdependence, Health and Oneness).
We also held our Achievement Certificate assembly to celebrate just some of the children who have really gone above and beyond in their learning or efforts this half term. In fact, we had so many efforts to applaud, we also had a Headteacher's Sticker assembly on Friday too so well done to all of our wonderful winners.
We were delighted to welcome Linda, Donna and Clare from Pentre Farm in to school this week along with some very special fluffy guests. These special guinea-pigs love to hear children read and we had lots of very willing volunteers ready to share a book with them. Even better news is that they are going to return very soon to hear some more readers!
And finally, thank you so much to Mr Ward-Willis, Mrs Welson and Mr Haines for organising the Selina Cup for girls football teams amongst our local schools. It was the perfect morning for it and the girls represented our school brilliantly. We'd like to say a special thank you to LHS and the young leaders who ran the matches for us and hosted the event. Year One, who were out on their autumn walk, collecting leaves and creating leaf collages in the park, even managed to pop over over and support the teams. Nursery also went exploring and found some wonderful puddles to splash about in!
Well, it just remains for me to say - thank you to all of our school community for a busy and productive half term. Enjoy a rest from the school routine and enjoy the fun things that this half term break brings. We will see you back, safe and rested on Monday 6th November.
