Year Six led our school act of Remembrance this morning. It was the first time that the school had gathered together for a long time but an occasion that we did not want to pass without acknowledging its meaning and its message.
Year Six shared music, poetry, prose and a song of peace with us and we all respected the two minutes’ silence at 11am.
Each class had made their own wreath which they laid at the end of our service. Some of our Year Six pupils will lay all of the wreaths at the war memorial on Sunday when they represent the school at the town Remembrance Parade. The children took a little bit of time before PE to visit the war memorial today with the school wreaths.
It was thoughtful, passionate, moving and an acknowledgement of the importance of peace. Thank you to Year Six for bringing us together today.
