Remembrance

Over the past two days the children have been considering the impact of both the two World Wars and other times of conflict. We have remembered those that lost their lives and the effect war has on individuals and communities. Some of our Year Six pupils represented the school at the Service of Remembrance and wreath laying in Kington on Sunday and today our children took part in the Memorial Unveiling and Service at Lady Hawkins' School. This new memorial is in memory of the Lady Hawkins'School former students who died in the service of their country. It includes Albert Henry Hamer in whose name we hold our annual football and netball tournament  In school our younger children also reflected on our desire for peace. Everyone took part in the two minutes silence to remember.
