The Queen's Green Canopy Celebration

Year Four have been looking forward to this exciting visit to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. The class are part of The Queen’s Green Canopy Celebration which is a project to not only mark the 70th anniversary of the Queen's reign but to support the planting of trees to help our planet earth.

We welcomed Lord Lisvane and Mr Wrixon, who were representing the Queen, together with some of our governors and special friends of Kington Primary School.

Year Four showed such knowledge about not only the Queen but the importance of trees to us all.

They planted a special Silver Birch that has been given to us, as part of this celebration, and shared some amazing poetry. It was a very special occasion and our visitors thoroughly enjoyed themselves. They were very impressed with our children.

Year Five and Year Six even joined in with three cheers from their rooms upstairs.

Certainly cause to celebrate. Thank you Year Four.
