What a lot of writing to share in assembly this morning. We have all been working on our 'Together' theme and the children have particularly enjoyed their Buddy Class work. It was super to listen to and to see a whole range of writing. A super Writing Week and an exciting competition ahead too. We are trying to beat the number of entries from last year when we had 105 writing and 106 handwriting entries. Let's try and do even better this year.

The Eco Committe and Sam led a great assembly called 'It's Not Rubbish' and made us all think about how we can either reuse or recycle waste instead to throwing it away. They encouraged us to think of practical ways to reuse and how we can make our recycling even more effective. We are  going to try and ensure that we cut down on our waste whenever we can.The committe are going to write a school action plan so we can all do even more to help.

Writing Week has begun with the children working in their Houses to write something in five minutes. They were given story dice to roll and had to use the four pictures that turned up!! Not an easy thing to do. Our theme for the week is 'Writing Together' and throughout the week children will work in their classes and with their Buddy Class. Watch out for the Poetry Competition coming home on Thursday.

What a great week, no wonder staff had such a difficult job choosing the Headteacher Sticker award winners. We have been practicing our singing with Nadine, one of the Birmingham Gospel Singers, ready to perform on the Courtyard stage. Hockey and Futsal teams have competed both locally and in Hereford tournaments with the hockey team qualifying for the Winter Games in February. Our trained Literacy Ambassadors have taught their first lesson and discovered just what it is like to be a teacher.

The school was delighted to welcome James Carter to the school.  James spent time with every class, sharing songs and poems.  Each class had some work to do with James and we are looking forward to sharing these on Thursday's assembly.  A fun filled day and some excellent writing.
