  • House Captain election and so much more!

Fri 24 Sep 2021 Mrs AC Phillips

The children have been really enjoying opportunities to learn outside this week. They are such a pleasure to watch and to listen to as they share their activities and experiences.

The big news of the week is that the Year Six House Captains and Vice-Captains have been elected. We had so many amazing speeches from so many of our oldest children making the election very close and voting very difficult.

We thanked everyone who put themselves forward and congratulate those who have been elected. They were very excited. The members of our four houses are now really looking forward to exciting plans, challenges and activities.

Once again we congratulated all of our children on a brilliant week and awarded Headteacher Stickers to two extra hard working children from each class. We always see such a positive attitude and incredible determination in those children who proudly wear their stickers.

Well done everyone and we look forward to the last week in September being a really good one.

Year Three are excited to be welcoming back Mr Perkins and wanted to say thank you to Miss Tomkins for teaching them over the past two weeks.

  • Let's Celebrate

Fri 17 Sep 2021 Mrs AC Phillips

This had been the first full week for the children and they have been amazing. They are ready for a restful weekend because they have put everything into both their learning and support of each other.

Headteacher stickers have been awarded to children who have started the year in their new class with a real readiness to learn and have brightened up the day with their enthusiasm. Others have achieved brilliantly in mathematics, science and writing, with our older classes showing incredible independence and determination.

We also awarded three stickers to children who outside of school helped a younger pupil when they needed a special helping hand.

We are so proud of them all.

  • Welcome Back

Fri 10 Sep 2021 Mrs AC Phillips

The children have been a delight to have back in school this week. We have loved seeing them in their new class bases and to hear the news of their summer break. So many really made the best of the time even with the restrictions and the weather.

We were able to congratulate them all on such a super start to the new school year and award Headteacher Stickers to those that have shone just that little bit brighter.

Our new look library has also been a big hit with the classes who have been able to enjoy it this week and discover lots of brilliant new books. We are so grateful to the Friends of Kington Primary School for supporting us with this project.

The Harmony principle for this half term is Adaptation and our values are Freedom and Hope. The children have certainly shown all of these quality this week. Each class also received a little plant to look after, and in celebration of a new school year.
