  • Achievement Assembly

    Fri 26 Oct 2018 Mrs A Phillips
After eight weeks of hard work it was really difficult for staff to decide which children should receive Achievement Certificates. We celebrated every child in school with particular congratulations to those that had done just that little something extra. It was also time to say well done to our football and netball teams who played brilliantly at the Mitchel Hamer tournament. All of the teams reached the semi finals with one of our football teams reaching the final where they were narrowly beaten 1-0. A great start to this academic year. Happy half-term holiday everyone.
  • Enrichment Day One

    Tue 23 Oct 2018 Mrs A Phillips
The children enjoyed a range of activities on the first Enrichment Day of the school year. They were able to enjoy the autumn weather as well as making ebooks, creating beautiful art work and producing healthy snacks to sell. Our singing group visited The Garth where the residents were delighted to be able to join in with the WW1 songs and chat to the children.
  • Tudor World! Year 5 and 6

Mon 22 Oct 2018 Mrs Bretherton
A fantastic day was had by all finding out about the Tudors and William Shakespeare in Stratford-upon-Avon today. From workshops on crime and punishment of the day to a tour of Shakespeare's home town, our children listened with interest and have learnt lots about life in the Tudor times as part of our topic this term.  Well done Year 5 and 6!
  • Friday News

Fri 19 Oct 2018 Mrs AC Phillips

There have been lots of events going on over the past few weeks so please check 'Class Pages' for an insight into the things individual classes have been doing. Even though Year Five and Year Six were out at Tudor World and some of the children were on a'Welly Walk', today we celebrated the children who had achieved something special this week. We congratulated artists and poets and children who are really concentrating on their learning and doing so well. Congratulations to them all.

Yesterday we opened our doors to prospective parents who were able to see the school in action with the children showing them the exciting things, and ways, that they learn. We were delighted to welcome our visitors. Although this was our official Open Day we are always pleased to be able to show families around school.

  • Headteacher Stickers

    Fri 12 Oct 2018 Mr D Perkins

There were so many great reasons to recognise the achievements of our children this week:

Firstly we awarded one of the biggest hauls of House Point badges we have seen in a long while - with a range from the very first 50 points badge, up to silver stars;  what a lot of great role models for us all.

Next, we congratulated our football team, who have won a competition in Radnor, for the first time since 2011.  Well done to you all and fingers crossed you can keep up the good form for our upcoming Mitchell Hamer event!

Finally, we awarded Headteacher Stickers to two children from each class.  Reasons ranged across the curriculum and again showed so many of our values that we model and encourage in school.

    Well done everyone this week.

  • Harvest Assembly

    Tue 09 Oct 2018 Mrs. A Phillips
What a beautiful day full of sunshine for our walk to St Mary's Church for our Harvest celebration. The children shared their special assembly with friends and family. We all thought about the importance of harvest and what it means to us and to others. We celebrated through poems and songs with Reverend Ben accepting our gifts for the Kington Larder who are extremely grateful. Thank you everyone.
  • Headteacher's Awards

    Fri 05 Oct 2018 Mr D Perkins

Congratulations to this week's recipients, who have shown their respective teachers many great qualities, as well as demonstrated many of our school's values, that were worthy of recognition.  Well done everyone!
