  • Happy Half Term

Fri 27 May 2022 Mrs AC Phillips and Mr D Perkins

It has been a short half term but a busy one and this week was no exception. We had a fabulous Harmony Enrichment Day looking at Love, Caring and Health. There were so many wonderful things happening across school.

It was also the last of the lawn bowling sessions for this group with family members coming along to join it. It was great fun.

All of the junior part of the school travelled by coach to Hay-On-Wye for the Schools Day and what an adventure, having had so few trips out for so long. The arrival of the coach was as exciting as the day!!

We finished the week, and the half term, with our Jubilee red, white and blue day and the awarding of very special and much deserved Achievement Certificates. Emma joined us from Kington Festival Committee to make the draw and then congratulated the children who will represent us as Festival Princess and Festival Prince.  A very important and exciting role.

Our hard working Sports Council congratulated the winners of their most recent throwing and catching challenge. They will announce a new one very soon.

The final half term of the academic year promises to be just as busy and exciting.

We wish you all a lovely break and look forward to seeing you on Monday 6th June.

  • Young Voices 2022

Thu 19 May 2022 Mrs Bretherton

We were very proud to take our Young Voices choir from Years 4, 5 and 6 to join 5800 other children from around the country in Birmingham Resorts World Arena on Thursday evening.  It was a long day of travelling and rehearsals but the amazing evening concert made it all worth it.  Thank you to our wonderful choir and to Mrs Painter and Mrs Argylle for looking after us all.  We're already talking about next year!

  • Hooray for a Barbecue!

Fri 13 May 2022 Mrs AC Phillips and Mr D Perkins

Year Six welcomed the responsibility of awarding merit badges this morning as we gathered to congratulate them all on working so incredibly hard on their SATs. Early morning breakfast of bacon and egg rolls has been a real treat for them and well deserved. They are busy planning their final few weeks at Kington Primary School.

Children from across the school received Headteacher Stickers for their continued hard work, enthusiasm, friendship and thoughtfulness. Year Five even successfully moved their classroom into the hall.

It is always so lovely to see the pride that the children show when they are recognised.

We are certainly proud of all our children and all they achieve. Well done everyone.

  • A May Day to celebrate

Fri 06 May 2022 Mrs AC Phillips and Mr D Perkins

Staff at assembly today all said that the week had been incredibly busy with visits out, visitors in and hard work from all of the children. We talked about their focus and appreciation and the way that they care for each other and the things around them. Our Values for the month of Caring and Trust shone through and we were able to link this to being healthy physically and emotionally.

May has already brought with it many amazing achievements. Congratulation to everyone and well done.
