It's been a busy week for our Year 6 children - they have coped admirably with their assessments in reading and maths and we are very proud of them. Well done to everyone in Year 6, including our wonderful staff throughout the school who have supported them in their learning. We are very grateful to Ms Deans for preparing the bacon and egg sandwiches each morning again this year too!

After Year 6 had shared an assembly with us on Friday and all received a Headteacher's Sticker, we also celebrated achievements from across the school this week including some super ukulele playing, hard work in every lesson, considerate friendships and being resilient when finding things tricky.  Well done all and have a great weekend.

Thank you to some of our Year 3 children for sharing their excellent version of Rumpelstiltskin in today's celebration assembly.  It was entertaining and dramatic in equal measures and superbly acted out.  We also had a lot of head teacher's stickers to award, house point badges for our House Captains to hand out and some certificates and medals for times tables expertise in school and for football and rugby tournaments some of our children took part in last weekend.  Well done all!

Our whole school art work in Border Bean has been really well-received so we took even more over this week to use every space we could!  It looks really fabulous displayed on the walls and visitors have left some wonderful compliments in the comments book. Thank you to Becca and her team for supporting the school to take part - please do pop in and visit if you can.

We also thought you might like to see how Willow and Squirrel are relaxing into their new home - they look so happy! Hope you enjoy the sunshine as much as they will be this weekend.

We had a very special visit from our local police officer PC Turberfield this week who came in to introduce herself and tell us about her job.  She very kindly brought along her police car and some of the uniform and equipment that she uses as part of the role of police officer.  We are very grateful to you PC Turberfield and the children loved meeting you (and having a go on the sirens!).

Congratulations to our sticker winners today who have all shown such lovely values in their work, play and friendships. Well done everyone!

If you are out and about in Kington over the next month or so, please do pop in to the Border Bean to look at our children's artwork which we have out together as part of the Marches Makers Festival that is going on throughout the town this weekend. It looks very impressive! Thank you to Beccy, Anne and Nancy for helping us to get involved.

Enjoy the Bank Holiday weekend everyone and we will see you on Tuesday.
