As well as celebrating all of the achievements the children have made during the week we wished our two fantastic trainee teachers all the best as they finish their time with us. They both have teaching jobs for September and will be a fantastic addition to their new schools. I think we will see a little bit of them over the next few weeks.

Our Year Five and Year Six pupils had the most amazing time at Red Ridge Outdoor Education Centre. They enjoyed lots of incredible activities that were challenging, exciting and just brilliant. The children worked superbly together encouraging each other and celebrating their successes....from making their own lunch, to caving, archery, ropes, rock climbing and kayaking to name a few. We all came home tired but exhilarated.

Our Sports Council met with Mr Kieram Hallam (Herefordshire School Games Organiser) to plan and develop our new active lunchtime club called 'The Energetic Eight' which will be open to Years 3 and 4. The Sports Council had an interesting discussion about how to encourage extra active play and they have some fantastic ideas already!  Here they are deep in discussion and sharing their new 'active superheroes' poses!

It's been a very busy few days for children in Years 3 & 4:

On Friday 9th June, both classes went to visit the Roman remains at Caerleon, including the amphitheatre, barracks, museum and bath house.  The children loved learning about the Romans and using Year 4's shields to march like legionary soldiers.

On Wednesday 14th of June we welcomed back Dr Rhodes to our school to work with Year 3 and 4 on our physics topics (forces and sounds respectively).  Year 3s made and launched some fantastic rockets, while Year 4s made their own speakers from magnets and buckets!
