Our School Value for May is Cooperation.
Our Core Values: Hope, Trust, Courage & Perseverance, Respect, Cooperation, Responsibility, Kindness & Friendship, Honesty, Peace and Understanding.
We explore our core values in our school and class assemblies and look out for them in our daily practice, earning Values Vouchers and Beads as we go.
Our local Nisa store has sponsored a fantastic new chalk board for the children to enjoy at break time. We know that it will be really well used and we are extremely grateful. Kington community are always so supportive and generous and we thank them all.
Today our Headteacher stickers were awarded for kindness, super learning, always doing the right thing and friendship. Congratulations to all of you.
Super Swimmers!
Today in assembly we said "Well Done" to these amazing swimmers from Years 1 and 2 who during their recent swimming lessons were assessed and awarded their 'red' swimming badge.
Congratulations to all of you.
Our Year Five and Year Six pupils had the most amazing time at Red Ridge Outdoor Education Centre. They enjoyed lots of incredible activities that were challenging, exciting and just brilliant. The children worked superbly together encouraging each other and celebrating their successes....from making their own lunch, to caving, archery, ropes, rock climbing and kayaking to name a few. We all came home tired but exhilarated.

It's been a very busy few days for children in Years 3 & 4:
On Friday 9th June, both classes went to visit the Roman remains at Caerleon, including the amphitheatre, barracks, museum and bath house. The children loved learning about the Romans and using Year 4's shields to march like legionary soldiers.
On Wednesday 14th of June we welcomed back Dr Rhodes to our school to work with Year 3 and 4 on our physics topics (forces and sounds respectively). Year 3s made and launched some fantastic rockets, while Year 4s made their own speakers from magnets and buckets!
Today we were proud to host our annual Mitchel Hamer football and netball competition. Our two football and two netball teams played fantastically, just missing out on places in the finals. Thank you to Mr Ward-Willis and Mrs Welson for organising the events and to our Friends committee for supplying refreshments.
Football Result:
Winner - Leominster
Runner up - Eardisley
Netball Result:
Winner - Pembridge
Runner up - Almeley
It was third time lucky for the children, as we finally had a dry day to go ahead with our track races. It was a fantastic morning of races and thank you to all the adults for coming to support the children. Congratulations to all the children with a special well done to those nominated for an award by their class teachers, the recipients of Victor and Victrix kindly given by Kington Festival Committee to two of our exceptional Year 6 students, as well as the overall key stage 2 champions of 2017 - Wales.
