Lots of nice pictures to share with you this week! Some show our Enrichment activities that explored the Harmony principles we try to weave into our curriculum (these are Cycle, Interdependence, Adaptation, Diversity, Oneness and Health) so we have some river dipping, yoga, preparing apple crumbles, art using Brusho, e-books about imaginary animals and healthy activities and designing a balanced meal. This was such a great day where all the children worked together and we will hold one each half term so they all get to explore each principle in their mixed groups.  Look out for our very impressive House Competition dance videos in the gallery soon too!   There's also a taster of some of the marvellous mountains Year 5 and 6 have been making for their DT and Geography topics today.

We had a lovely achievement assembly today and even came up with some new actions to demonstrate the fantastic qualities our children are showing.  Year 2 were very excited to be the first winners of our Best Attendance Award as their attendance was 97% over the half term with other classes very close behind. They now get to choose how they would like to celebrate as a class which may well be some party games one afternoon or a play on the Rec.  Congratulations to all.

Have a wonderful break everyone and we'll look forward to seeing you all on Monday 31st October.

    Fri 14 Oct 2022 Mrs. A. Welson

We have all had such a wonderful week together! This week has included an amazing enrichment morning with all children from Y1 to Y6 involved and it was such a rewarding experience for everyone. We were also very impressed with the awarding of so many house-point badges this morning in assembly and with the lovely range of reasons for the Head Teacher sticker children this week. Stickers were given for super focus on learning, being great role models, demonstrating wonderful friendship qualities and showing determination to do their best in all of their learning.

We could definitely see the change in season this week as we walked up to St Mary's church for our first Harvest Festival with Reverend Ben for a few years. Each class had been practising their song or poem to share with the rest of the school - all of which were really lovely. We have filmed them to share with parents so please look out for them on your class page this week. Kington Food Bank were very grateful for your generous food donations too - thank you.

Year 5 and 6 had a brilliant walk around Hergest Ridge with Tony and Keith, who kindly do this for us on an annual basis. Despite a proper soaking in the rain, it was a fun day of stories and great to be out exploring our local area. Thank you to Tony and Keith, once again, and well done to our wonderful pupils for a super day out.

We would also like to say a huge thank you to our amazing Friends group who have been so busy running the community shop, raising a fantastic £721 which will benefit all the children. Thank you to everyone who donated and supported the shop too.
