As we all look forward to a half term break we have had plenty to enjoy and celebrate this week. The hockey was amazing and got the week off to an excellent start. Enrichment Day was another fantastic opportunity to explore the curriculum in different and exciting ways. We had a really successful Open Morning and Year Two brought this terms work together by inviting families to join them for a sandwich tasting session. The children certainly made brilliant sandwiches that were thoroughly enjoyed by all. This afternoon the children in Reception shared their Great Outcome with family and friends. They have brought together their learning around 'family' making fabulous wooden picture frames with an amazing family picture inside. We are really enjoying this way of sharing our children's learning. It was also a lovely opportunity for one of our families to share their Diwali celebrations with us. Thank you and Happy Diwali.
Our Mitchell Hamer football and netball tournament was fantastic with teams from across the county, and over the border competing. We were so proud of them all with both our netball and football team being placed third.
Achievement and Headteacher Sticker Assemblies celebrated all the children with special recognition for those that have had an exceptionally positive half term.
Congratulations and thank you to everyone. A new exciting half term begins on Monday 4th November.
After a beautiful Autumn walk to St Marys' Church we held our Harvest Assembly. Each class either presented a poem or a song to help us think about the meaning of harvest both here and across the world. We filled the church with children and family members who joined with us in our final song, Harvest Rock and Roll. We gave thanks for the kind donations to the Kington Food Bank, thank you everyone.
Back at school our Year Five and Year Six children invited their families into school for a bowl of soup and a bread roll, all made by the children as part of their creative curriculum. This lovely gathering brought together many aspects of their learning this half term and was a wonderful way to celebrate.
Today Headteacher awards were given for such a brilliant array of learning and positivity. The children challenge staff every week as they make such a difficult decision.
Congratulations and thank you everyone.
