  • Farewell to February

Fri 28 Jan 2022 Mrs AC Phillips and Mrs E Bretherton

The sunshine has been a blessing this week and the sound of happy voices outside is enough to lift everyone’s spirits. We have such lovely comments from our community when they hear the children playing, laughing and even singing outside.

Staff requested plenty of house badges for today’s assembly and we were very excited to award a 150 badge to a pupil in Year Three. We think this is the first time that one has been awarded to such a young pupil. We are amazed at all the children and enjoy celebrating all of their achievements.

Headteacher stickers were, once again, given for a range of activities and personal attributes. We talked about gymnastics and thanked the children who are being brilliant when there is a change of teachers. Everyone is being so flexible, so thoughtful, and so caring of each other.

Well done everyone and let’s make February just as brilliant as January has been.

  • Freeze Friday

Fri 21 Jan 2022 Mrs AC Phillips and Mr D Perkins

Although there have been several chilly starts this week the children have skipped into school ready for a productive day. They still thoroughly enjoy being outside for Forest School, PE and playtimes.

The children have been talking about house points and their excitement in reaching the next milestone. They receive house points for such a wide range of reasons. We are always so proud of them. The values for this month of quality and humility certainly shine through in both their attitude and their work.

There were also lots of variation in the Headteacher sticker awards today. We celebrated achievements in netball, ICT, story mapping and science and children who are so brilliant at teaching each other and being amazing team players. The children are so engaged and show such enjoyment and enthusiasm.

We thanked them all for their friendships, their focus, and the hard work they put in to everything.

  • Amazing

Fri 14 Jan 2022 Mrs AC Phillips and Mr D Perkins

Friday assembly is always very special and today was no exception. House Captains awarded badges, including a bronze and a gold star. We all took a moment to think about the last ten house points we had received and why?

Sports Council then gave prizes to children from across the school who had won their latest sports challenge and directed us towards the information for this half term. We know they will all be working hard to rise to these playtime challenges.

We then shared a virtual journey around school with staff describing the wonderful work that we would find both in the corridors and the classrooms. This gave us such a lovely flavour of the school environment that we are not yet able to explore in the way we used to.

Headteacher stickers were then awarded for such a range of reasons. Our youngest children have shown resilience and maturity and such a kind, thoughtful and caring nature towards their friends.  We have seen this maturity and positivity across the school. Children were celebrated for their enthusiasm, focus and the quality presentation of work.

Many of the children work as hard at home as at school and today we especially looked at children who are showing real sporting attributes in relation to skills and team work.

Some of our oldest children were acknowledge for their research skills and their enthusiasm in learning through history and science and exploration.

We certainly saw many qualities and attributes in our children this morning and know that this reflects so many of our children, making the school such a great place to learn.

We thanked everyone for making school such a vibrant and special place and for their individual qualities.

  • Welcome to The New Year 2022

Fri 07 Jan 2022 Mrs AC Phillips and Mr D Perkins

The children have only had three days back in school this week but have impressed us so much with all they have achieved.

We have seen amazing art work, super spelling, team work and independent writing that has been really impressive. Our youngest children have just been the best at looking after their resources, both in the classroom and outside.

It has been such a lovely start to 2022 and we know we will have lots more to share with you over the next few weeks.

Thank you and well done to everyone.
