  • Headteacher Awards

    Fri 31 Jan 2020 Mr D Perkins

We have reached the end of January and thus finished our focus on the value of 'humility'.  We awarded headteacher awards to children in assembly for showing this value, however many children had also impressed their teachers with other values too, such as perseverance and determination.

We look forward to working on our next school value of 'patience' for February.

  • Wonderful Wednesday

Thu 23 Jan 2020 Mrs AC Phillips
The children are always so proud of their Headteacher Awards and yesterday was no exception. We all love hearing about the different reasons that they are being celebrated. Our Value for this month is Humility and the children that staff chose definitely show this quality in their learning and attitude. Well done everyone.
  • Books and Words

Thu 16 Jan 2020 Mrs AC Phillips

Either side of our Ofsted Inspection the children have enjoyed some special opportunities to explore books. On Monday Year Six started six weeks of drama with The Courtyard Theatre exploring Macbeth and today we welcomed local author C.S.Clifford into school. He entertained KS1 and KS2 this morning in assembly, talking about the exciting possibilities of time travel.  He answered questions about his fantastic books before working with children across KS2 on elements of writing and giving them tips and ideas to improve their own writing. The children all had such a fantastic time and were really inspired. The children also had the opportunity to purchase a signed book to take home as a momento of the day.

  • A Super Start!

    Thu 09 Jan 2020 Mr D Perkins

It's been such a positive start back to term and the children are clearly reenergised and ready to learn.

Choosing children to receive the Head teacher Awards this week was very difficult for every class teacher, as staff continued to comment on how well their children had returned back to school.  Many of the adults in assembly nominated children who had shown great levels of effort and participation over the week over several subjects.  Congratulations to everyone - and welcome back!
