Today, Jack Rutter visited the school to inspire and motivate the children with his story of success over difficult circumstances.  Jack has minor cerebral palsy in all his limbs after an unprovoked attack.  Through a journey of rehabilitation and hard work, Jack is now the captain of the England CP Football Team.  He is looking forward to leading the team in the upcoming Paralympics in Rio this summer.

Jack spent time with each class, leading a circuit of exercises, before speaking to the whole school in an assembly.  Jack’s key messages were to have respect, self-belief, motivation and to keep active. There was even time for a kick-about with some of the children at break-time.

Congratulations to all of our children who have received a sticker this week and well done to our Year 5 trainee leaders who received their leadership certificates.   They hope to be organising lots of activities for the younger children soon on the playground.

Please see the gallery on the Children tab for more photos.

An early and wet start did not dampen the spirits of the children heading off to London for their three day residential. There was a very smart coach and lots of happy children and staff. We know they are all going to have an amazing time.

We ended the week with a really super School Fair organised by Friends of Kington Primary School. There were a variety of stalls and chance to sit and enjoy some refreshments. The children in Year Six started the Fair with a Rio themed dance, orgainised and ran their own stalls and everyone enjoyed a lovely few hours. Thank you to everyone for your support we really appreciate it.

A fantastic day was had by all today, as the sun shone at Lady Hawkins' sports field.  It began with many of the Year 5 children leading the school in a warm up.  This was followed by EYFS and KS1 completing their track events and challenges, while KS2 did a rotation of field events.  Congratulations to Ireland for winning the KS1 cup this year.  During the second half of the morning, KS2 completed their track events to complete their overall scores. Congratulations to Wales for their victory this year.  We are grateful to Kington Festival Committee for presenting the Victor and Victrix Ludorum awards for children in Year 6 who have played a key role in sport throughout their time in school.  Many congratulations to all the medal winners too, who were nominated by their class teachers, for their commitment, perseverance, sportsmanship and ability to be good role models.  Thank you to everyone for their attendance and support, and well done to all the children for their excellent performances today.  Many more photos of the day can be seen in our gallery.

We returned from our half term holiday to celebrate during our Achievement Assembly. All the children shared a larger certificate to say well done for everything they do every day but especially during our really successful Ofsted. We then saw individual children rewarded for a wide range of achievements. All this and 'Money Monday' too.
