What a busy day in school today. Children received Headteacher Stickers for amazing work and their attitude to learning. We were able to present fresh eggs and a bird feeder to the winner of the egg box recycling competition organised by Turners Garden Centre as part of our February Enrichment Day. Some of our youngest children thoroughly enjoyed pancakes in the morning followed by the most incredible food from Ghana cooked in school by one of our talented parents. Meanwhile our oldest children watched a drama called 'Don't Stare' performed by About Face Theatre Company. It gave rise to really important discussions and the children once again showed incredible empathy, understanding and a desire to make a difference if they can.

We took a fabulous group of children to Old Trafford to experience a full stadium for a Europa League match. The atmosphere, inside and outside the stadium, was amazing and the game exciting with lots of great commentary from the children. They cheered on both Saint Etienne and Manchester United and were rewarded with three goals including a penalty. The  journey was a time to enjoy being with friends and snuggle up to sleep on the way home.

What a lot of amazing achievements to celebrate today. We congratulated the children receiving an Achievement Certificate for their work and contribution to school throughout this half term. Our Year Three and Year Four swimmers were given their badges and certificates awarded to our athletes and cross country runners. Our winning Running Club House Captain lifted the cup to celebrated their achievements this term. We were able to say an enormous well done to everyone for another very successful half term and wish them a happy week away from school (unless we are seeing them for our exciting trip to Old Trafford). Happy Holiday.

We just love Enrichment Days with the variety of activities including trips out to Turners Garden Centre, cooking, performance poetry, art, animation, sport and culture. The day finishes with the whole school enjoying the poetry that the children have performed in their group. A super day.

We were so delighted to have qualified for the Herefordshire Winter Games in both Hockey and Athletics and the teams did brilliantly today. They did not return to school with medals but a real sense of pride, knowing how well they had competed and how brilliantly they had represented the school. Congratulations to them all.

Today we enjoyed our annual Safer Internet Day.  The focus this year was on images; what to share and not to share, saying positive comments and being critical as to the reliability of where the image came from.

There are a number of really useful resources available for parents to help support this topic at home.  Please find some time to read them, preferably together with your child/ren.

On this grey day your singing during assembly was truly amazing and made everyone smile, thank you everyone.

Here are this week's 'headteacher's sticker' children who have been awarded their stickers for such a wonderful variety of reasons including showing true friendship, being determined, improvements in handwriting and maths, sharing modestly with others and impressing in final pieces of written work. Congratulations to you all.
