Fri 31 Mar 2023 Mrs Bretherton

Congratulations to all of our children who were awarded the Achievement Certificates today - everyone has worked so hard this term and we are very proud of you!  We were also treated to a very special dance by Year 5 and 6 today who were very keen to share their 'moves' with their parents.  Thank you to everyone involved, especially Mr Haines who has helped the children learn the routine. We'll have to remember that tune for the next disco! Please read the newsletter for more information about the term and some dates for next term too.  Have a wonderful break and we will see you back at school on Monday 17th April.

Fri 24 Mar 2023 Mrs Bretherton

As I write, our school hall is absolutely crammed with 'Bingo-ers' all concentrating on their Bingo cards as Mrs Turner is calling out the numbers!  It's a wonderful way to raise money for the children and thank you so much to our dedicated Friends of KPS team who have organised the evening. Thank you also to everyone who was able to come along and support us.

More congratulations were shared with our Head Teacher Sticker children today as our teachers shared their lovely qualities and hard work they have been doing this week. Lots of children received stickers for working very hard and making super progress, especially in maths it seems this week. We also heard about some pleasing poems, fantastic friends, making marvellous choices and leading the girls' football team with great sports person qualities. We also said goodbye to some lovely pupils who are moving and will be missed hugely.

Thank you all and have a great weekend. We will see you next week for our last week of the term.  Enjoy looking at some of our photos from Enrichment this week too where our children explore the different areas of our Harmony principles.

We've had a great day today from sharing the best joke from each class in assembly to raising over £235 for Comic Relief. Thank you so much for supporting this important cause.  Our assembly was busy too with some House Point badges awarded, certificates for netball and girls' festival attendees as well our Head Teacher stickers too. Lots of people have been spotted showing our values of bravery and courage this week too and have been nominated for an award which we will hand out in a special assembly next week.

Just some of the reasons cited for the Head Teachers' stickers this week were: amazing work in phonics, working hard in all subjects, trying their best and being kind to friends as well as brilliant column addition and super throwing/catching skills.

Please find also some photos from last week of the wellbeing and photography workshop with our guest photographer Maris who worked with Year 2 and Year 4 to create some beautiful, calm pictures that make us feel good; and the Year 3 drama workshop with Becky from the Courtyard which focused on expressing ourselves healthily.

A lovely week - thank you everyone and enjoy a relaxing weekend.

    Fri 03 Mar 2023 Mrs A Welson

What an exciting World Book Day we have had! Thank you everyone for all of your efforts and enthusiasm in our celebrations. We enjoyed sharing our costumes in assembly and hearing who had won the prizes for our 'book in a box' competition. Our judges had been so impressed with al of the creativity shown in the entries and the brilliant job that everyone had done. Our winners were quite rightly very proud of their boxes. It was lovely to see all of the boxes on display after school and to hear such lovely comments from the families who were able to come and share them. We also awarded our headteacher stickers to classes across school. There was such a wonderful array of reasons for our stickers this week including super writing, excellent progress with times tables, consistently applying themselves in a positive manner, for trying their best in all lessons and for great maths vocabulary. Well done to the Year 5 girls who represented us beautifully at the Here Girls Can festival in Hereford too. Here's just a few photos to give you a quick idea of what we have been up to and the sheer brilliance of our book boxes brought in this year!

From all of us at KPS, we'd also like to send our love and best wishes to west Wales with Reverend Ben and Jean as they move on to pastures new. Thank you for all the kindness, love and support you have given to our community and we hope you will come back to share some photos with us soon.
