  • Friday Celebrations

Fri 26 Mar 2021 Mrs AC Phillips and Mr D Perkins

The staff really needed more than the usual two Headteacher stickers this morning because choosing is becoming almost impossible. It was such a challenge but they managed to decide. The children being rewarded today have been kind, considerate, hardworking, thoughtful and determined. We celebrated how well they work with their learning partners and how committed they are to making progress in all they do. They are often the humblest of pupils.

We sadly have to say goodbye to children from two families and thanked them for being such an important part of school during their time with us.

We also wished our Student Teachers all the very best. They have been with us throughout the year and have been an incredible part of the staff team.

Everyone becomes such an important part of school but although we will miss them we know they will be successful in the next phase of their individual journeys and will take a little bit of Kington Primary School magic with them.

    Congratulations everyone.

  • Celebrating Kindness

Thu 18 Mar 2021 Mrs AC Phillips and Mr D Perkins

We have just loved having all the children back in school and the Headteacher Awards this week were a wonderful celebration of the work that they have been doing and the positive attitude they show. They have warmly welcomed our new pupils, who have fitted in so brilliantly. We talked about our value for the month of 'Thoughtfulness' and linked it to this years comic Relief theme of 'Kindness'.

The children shared a smile today through their kindness Superheros and the jokes they brought in from home. Their kind donations and their equally valuable thoughts and wishes have made it a day to celebrate.

We also learnt that we have won the Herefordshire Schools virtual Spring Games Balance Challenge. Amazing. Well done everyone.

  • We Are Here Together

    Thu 11 Mar 2021 D.Perkins

All the staff have commented on how wonderfully the children have returned to school and are 'ready to learn'.  It has been nice to have some spring sunshine and to see the children enjoying the playground and each other's company once more.

Key Stage 2 were able to come together this morning to award two Headteacher Awards to each class.  Staff always find it difficult to choose and this first week back was no different.

  • Welcome Back

Fri 05 Mar 2021 Mrs AC Phillips
We are delighted that this should be our final lockdown blog as we look forward to all the children returning to School on Monday. The classrooms and all the staff are ready and excited, as are the children who have been learning in school. Being together and seeing friends is a really important part of school and we know that many children have missed this. Although we will be back in class bubbles, these bubbles are going to be vibrant and exciting and a brilliant place to be. Our first week back will have a reading enrichment focus with time to talk and share and celebrate. This will link beautifully with this week's world Book Day. Everyone has been amazing over the past few weeks and we look forward to catching up with you all. I have made a small video for you which can be found in our Video Resource CentreThank you everyone.
