  • National Fitness Day

Wed 25 Sep 2019 Mrs Bretherton
To mark National Fitness Day, some fitness instructors from Halo came in to school to deliver a fitness session to Year 6.  We had to practise the plank, squats and burpees to help us stengthen our core muscles.  Great fun - thank you to Charlie and Di for putting us through our paces!
  • Kington Festival Walk

Fri 20 Sep 2019 Mrs Bretherton
Year 5 and 6 were pleased to join in with the Kington Walking Festival again this year, which involved a 5 mile hike around the surrounding hills of Kington.  It was the perfect day for a good walk and we even found a quiet moment to do some observational sketching.  We were so lucky to have Tony and Keith as our guides and we even made some friends along the way!
  • Show and Swim

Fri 20 Sep 2019 Mrs AC Phillips

Kington Agricultural and Horse Show were delighted with the number of entries they received from our children. The judging proved to really difficult and we were delighted to present several certificates in assembly this week.

We also congratulated two children who had taken part in A Stroke of Luck Swimathon over the weekend raising vital funds and changing lives.

Thank you and congratulations to them all.

  • Election Results

Fri 13 Sep 2019 Mrs AC Phillips

The children in school had such a difficult decision to make this week as the new House Captains and Vice House Captains were elected. Prospective candidates had to prepare speeches to presented to the school before an important secret vote. Voting was very tight with the exciting results shared in assembly today. We also elected Year Six pupils to take a lead role in our Sports Council. Congratulations to them all. We know that they are going to be a fantastic asset to the school.

Headteacher stickers reflected a really positive attitude to learning and a real desire to both excel in learning and present work with quality and flair.

We are delighted that yoga sessions have begun again with our super yoga teacher Georgie.

Please do join us at Kington Show if you are visiting. It is the first year that we have had our own stand although we have regularly exhibited children’s work. Some of the children tried out our tepee and a few of our activities. We look forward to enjoying the show and the sunshine.

  • Welcome Back

    Fri 06 Sep 2019 Mrs A Phillips
It was so lovely to welcome everyone back this week and see the excitement on every ones faces as they begin another school year. The children have already achieved so much and most importantly enjoyed saying hello to all of their friends and being together. We were able to celebrate the children receiving the first Headteacher stickers of the new year. Around school there was a really lovely buzz!
