  • Time to Celebrate

Fri 17 Jul 2020 Mr Perkins and Mrs A Phillips

This is definitely a day to celebrate and for us to say thank you to everyone for their resilience, thoughtfulness and care over the past weeks. The school has continued to be a happy and successful place for the children we have been able to welcome back. We also know that for most children at home over this time it has been a time to find a different way to learn and to flourish and grow. We have been amazed at how the children and families have adapted and we have enjoyed being part of this time in their education. We have certainly worked in partnership with each other and discovered many incredible parent/teachers out there in our community.

Now is the time to stop, relax a little and enjoy a few weeks of summer activities. Congratulations to you all.

The final part of our school blog for this academic year is dedicated to Year Six as we say goodbye and wish them all the very best for the future. They have been an incredible group throughout their time with us contributing in so many ways, and achieving so much as a group and individually.

We know that their Leavers Show would have been amazing, as they are, and we are sad to not have been able to celebrate their time with us and wish them well in our usual fashion.

They did have a chance to catch up with each other this week, signing shirts as a memento and managing a social distanced whole class photograph. The Victor and Victrix Ludorum sport trophies were able to be given to our worthy winners along with the Jubilee Cup for overall outstanding achievement and contribution to school.

Year Six also treated their families to a final zoom assembly which you can share with them in our video library. The creativity and smiles that you will be treated to gives a little insight into the talents they have and the pleasure they have given us. They are ready to move to Secondary School and continue to develop into amazing young people. Thank you Year Six for being very special.

Wishing everyone a happy and safe summer break.

  • Storytime

Fri 03 Jul 2020 Mrs ACL Phillips

We have a real treat this week for those who love storytelling, especially if we know the person telling the story and have missed seeing them over the past few weeks. I am going to keep you guessing so it is a surprise when you follow this link to our Video Resource Centre. Please join in with some of the familiar phrases and words or just sit back and enjoy listening either by yourself or with your family. Other staff are also thinking of a story to share with you but it will be hard to follow this one.

It is also the beginning of a new month and a new Value. This month is a time for us to really think about the value of Understanding which is so important particularly now as we think about how we are feeling at the moment, how things will be for us over the next few weeks, and as we all return to school in September. We will need to understand our feelings as well as understand the feelings and thoughts of those around us so we can return to school safely and happily after our time apart. We will also need to understand the reason for a slightly different environment and way of working. It will be time to share and to talk, which has always been so important and helps us all enjoy being together and successfully living and learning together. Have a good weekend and I hope the story telling inspires you to find your favourite book and share it with someone.
