It's A Knock Out was such fun for the children who were chosen to join other schools for a Hereford tournament. At the same time 21 girls were learning new skills and putting them into action in some friendly games at the FA Girls Football Tournament at the Academy. They also met professional female players from Aston Villa and a football freestyler. A great day and the weather was beautiful.

Our school Reading Week began with Year Two sharing a lovely story about 'Love' with the whole school in assembly. Love is our Value of the month and this week we are celebrating our love of reading. The children are working with their Buddy Classes, visiting the library, enjoying the school day at Hay Festival and finishing the week with our sponsored Walk and Read.

We are looking forward to seeing the 'extreme reading' pictures after half term.

Nearly all of the children in Running Club took part at the Cluster School Cross Country Competition at Lady Hawkins'. Seventy five children running in the cold wet and wind but loving it. There were wins for Emily, Owen and Sophie. Well done to them all.

Fantastic news that Helen and Sophie reached the final of the chess yesterday. Its always hard playing a friend but they were fantastic with Sophie winning by just half a point. As Supremo she will now go on to play in Manchester representing three Counties. Congratulations to them both.

Congratulations to the children who qualified for the Megafinal of the UK Chess Challenge. They have been competing in school over the last few weeks and played brilliantly to reach the finals. It was a challenging day and they all played fantastically with many of the games being very tense. What a super team they were.

The hall was full of the sound of singing when the children in Year 2 and Year 3 entertained their parents with beautiful songs they had learnt as part of the Herefordshire 'Spring Sing' event.
