  • Red Ridge Residential

    Sun 30 Jun 2019 Mrs A Phillips
What an incredible time we all had on our residential to Red Ridge. The children were really amazing. They enjoyed such a range of activities showing such enthusiasm, supporting each other and encouraging those that were a little nervous at times. It was such a pleasure to see them challenge themselves and work together to achieve so much. We were so lucky with the weather even though the quarry was incredibly hot! The children were pleased to escape to the cool of the caves. Nothing seemed to stop the children and adults have the most brilliant time. Here are a few photographs to capture the three days but we have hundreds more, with some lovely individual shots, that will be posted on the photograph gallery as soon as possible. We will let you know when they have been posted. Thank you to everyone who supported another brilliant residential.

  • Kington's Got Talent!

Thu 27 Jun 2019 Mrs Argyle

What talented children we have! This afternoon we held our Summer Concert with an audience of families and KS1 classes. We had 10 instrumentalists who played with confidence and style on a range of instruments: piano, clarinet, oboe and bassoon. The children did an amazing job of showing us their amazing talents and the results of their hard work. Our Singing Club (children from years 1, 2 and 3) also performed 5 songs brilliantly and are looking forward to teaching them to the rest of the school! Thank you to all of the grown-ups who were able to come and support.

  • Soaring like an eagle

    Fri 21 Jun 2019 Mr D Perkins

It was a lovely day today with plenty of sunshine.  This only added to the joy and happiness in the hall today as we congratulated this week's winners of the Headteacher Award.  There's so much going on in school at the moment and this only makes it harder for the adults to choose.

During the afternoon, Year 4 were very grateful to be invited to take part in a series of golf themed challenges, organised by Keith from Kington Golf Club.  So many of the children enjoyed it and are keen to attend the club in the future for free tuition.

  • Time to share

    Fri 14 Jun 2019 Mrs A Phillips

We are always looking at ways that the children can share their achievement's with other children and adults in school but also with home. On Tuesday Year Three welcomed their families into school to share the brilliant ebooks that they have been creating in class. They were very proud and, if a family member was not able to pop in, there were plenty of brothers, sisters and friends to share with.

Three of our children attended a fabulous Puzzle Challenge Day in Hereford on Wednesday with children from schools across the county. They were brilliant.

In assembly today we came together, after another super week in school, to say congratulations to the children being awarded a Headteacher Sticker. They not only reflect our values but commit to doing their very best in so many ways. Our value for this month is Unity and we are delighted to be able to see so many examples of this in school.

  • Orchestra of the Swan

    Wed 12 Jun 2019 Mrs A Phillips
We were delighted to be able to welcome some of the very talented members of the Orchestra of the Swan into school this morning. Sue,Sally and Diane led two super workshops with children in Year Four and Year Five building on their recorder and DooD skills. They were joined by the children who take instrumental lessons in school. The music was beautiful, inspirational and in the words of one of our children "divine". What a delight to fill the hall with such incredibly music when we all came together for assembly. A lovely morning.
  • End of week celebrations

    Fri 07 Jun 2019 Mr D Perkins

It was a lovely assembly today as we congratulated children on their successes this week.

Miss Deans had the pleasure of leading the assembly which welcomed Emma from the Kington Festival Committee.Together, we drew this year's prince and two princesses from the year 6's who had put themselves forward for this special role. Congratulations to the three of you - you'll do a great job!

We also said well done to our year 5/6 rounders team who played brilliantly and were placed second in a Herefordshire inter school tournament. It was also the regular weekly opportunity to awarded our traditional Friday Headteacher Awards.  Many of the winners this week, reflected the success of our Sports Day yesterday.
