The weather prevented us going up to our Forest School site but the children were still able to make a fire and enjoy hot chocolate back here at school. Brilliant and warm too.

We were able to celebrate the end of a really good half term with Achievement Certificates for some of the children who have really stood out over the past few weeks not only in their learning but their attitude and contribution to school life. We also congratulated the 26 children who took part in the Luctonians Cross Country event. They were all amazing and it was such a long run.

    Happy Half Term Holiday everyone.

It is really lovely to see how well all the children work together on such a range of activities during our Enrichment Days. They enjoy being creative, sharing their work and learning from each other. There were pancakes for some of the children to enjoy too. A fantastic day.

    Fri 09 Feb 2018 Mr D Perkins

These children thoroughly deserved their Headteacher's Award sticker this week for showing a number of strengths and values across the curriculum.

During the afternoon, Mr Perkins took some children from Year 3 and Year 4 to Lady Hawkins' School to take part in a maths challenge competition.  Our 16 children worked on individual challenges, as well as team challenges that ranged from hard to annoyingly hard!  However these children had been chosen because of their problem solving skills and they didn't disappoint! You all worked incredibly hard.

  • Maths Workshops - Tuesday 6th February 2018

Fri 09 Feb 2018 Mrs Bretherton
The children loved showing their parents and grandparents some of the maths games and activities we have been using in school.  Look out for more workshops next term!

Congratulations to all our worthy sticker winners this week.  Many teachers commented on how hard it was to choose as all the children are working so hard but some children stood out just that little bit more for super listening skills; showing progress in particular subjects; making thoughtful contributions to class discussions and for sticking with tasks even when they find them difficult.  Well done to all!

Year Three shared all their knowledge of Egypt with us in assembly today. They sang a really catchy song and showed us amazing art work. They are certainly ready to find out even more on their trip to the Egyptian Centre at Swansea University in March. Well done all of you.
