  • Headteacher's Awards

Fri 27 Apr 2018 Mrs Bretherton

As always, we had a wonderful array of reasons for everybody who has earned a Headteacher's sticker this week: from working hard to overcome difficulties to sporting achievements and fabulous displays of enthusiasm in their learning!  Well done to everybody.

We also discussed our amazing new reading books that the Friends of Kington School have bought for us.  Some are in the library for everyone to borrow and we also have more choice in each classroom as well as some new guided reading sets.  We will make great use of them and thank you to the Friends and everyone who helped to raise the money to buy them for us.

Finally, we congratulated the whole school in helping us to achieve a Sports Gold award.  This is the culmination of a lot of hard work and effort from everyone, but a special thanks must go to our Sports Councillors and our PE Coordinators, Mrs Welson and Mr Ward-Willis.

Tue 24 Apr 2018 Mrs AC Phillips
We were all part of a really thoughtful and reflective assembly that looked at Peace in all its elements. Kim and Jenny led the assembly as part of the Hereford Peace Council and through drama encouraged us to think about what Peace is and what we need to consider in order to promote Peace. Some of our Year Six pupils took part and we finished with a peaceful and thoughtful song.

Fri 20 Apr 2018 Mrs AC Phillips
Together with the lovely sunshine we had a super end to the week with a celebration of the achievements children had made throughout the week. They have come back to school after the break with a brilliant attitude and love of learning. Congratulations to them all.
  • Recycled Sculpture competition

Tue 17 Apr 2018 Mrs Bretherton
Wow! What a fantastic response to our Easter competition with 40 entries from across the school.  Inspired by our visit to local artist Paul Blaine last term, we set up a 'Recycled Sculpture' gallery in this morning's assembly so everyone could appreciate all the wonderful sculptures and hear the winners announced too.  Judges Mrs Roberts-Powell, Mr Ward-Willis, Mrs Littlar and Mrs Bretherton found it extremely hard to choose as everyone had come up with some inventive and creative ways to use up their rubbish so well done to everyone.  The winners will be displayed alongside Paul Blaine's work at the Spring Greens Fair at the beginning of May so please look out for them.
