From fantastic gymnastic lessons, welly walks, transition activities with the high school, water workshops with Up! to meeting Catherine Barr, a published author; we have certainly had a busy but amazing week.  It was lovely to celebrate it all in our assembly today and congratulations to our children who were awarded stickers and house point badges. Have a good weekend everyone.

This week in assemblies, we have enjoyed talking about the values we want to focus on and show towards others so it was fantastic to hear about so many as we presented Headteacher stickers today. The House Captains also proudly presented their first house point badges in assembly to lots of hard-working children right across the year groups. Congratulations to you all!

If you are able to, please do support our PTA group who are running the community shop on the High Street this week. Thank you to our Friends for all your hard work and enthusiasm in getting the shop ready and looking so good.

    Enjoy the sunshine everyone!

Today was a particularly exciting day for the school as some of our Year 6 pupils put themselves forward for the roles of House Captain and Vice House Captain, to represent and lead their house teams (England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales).  As they read out speeches they had written themselves, Year 6 enthralled the rest of the school with their clear and steady public-speaking - a really challenging thing to do so well done to you all!  All the children then had two votes and we announced the titleholders with Year 6 this afternoon.  Huge congratulations to our new House Captains and Vice Captains and I look forward to seeing them flourish in their new roles and responsibilities.

I had a lovely afternoon visiting all the classes to do a Headteacher Sticker run and hearing about the wonderful week each class has had.  Congratulations to our sticker winners for this week.  Lots of children were picked for showing our school values such as: showing respect by listening well, caring for their friends and being patient in learning new things.  Thank you everyone.

As you know, we will be closed on Monday due to her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II's funeral. Through our school and class assemblies, we have shared our thanks and amazement at her 70 years of service and dedication to her people and country. Our thoughts are with her family at this time.

What a fantastic start to the term! Welcome back to you all and thank you for coming back with such a positive attitude. We held our first Headteacher's celebration assembly today and heard so many wonderful reasons for those awarded with stickers. Well done and enjoy a lovely weekend. If you are visiting Kington Show on Saturday, please come and say hello at our school stand.
