  • Congratulations

    Fri 21 Dec 2018 Mrs A Phillips

We finished a fantastic term celebrating everything every child had achieved over the Autumn Term with a special well done to those receiving Achievement Certificates for that extra little something that made them stand out.

We also congratulated all the children who entered the Inter-House flag competition and announced the winners. We had such brilliant designs. A super end to a super term. Thank you everyone.

  • Party Time

    Thu 20 Dec 2018 Mrs A Phillips
The children certainly joined in with the party theme today. Games and fun and a little bit of work! started the day as they got themselves ready for a party lunch and lots more games in the afternoon. A wonderful party day. Thank you to friends and family for contributing to the children's  Christmas party and making it a day to remember.
  • Christmas Presence

    Wed 19 Dec 2018 Mr D Perkins

Today really turned up the Christmas feeling around school.  During the morning, many of children were surprised to see two lovely visitors on the playground; Mork and Mindy, a beautiful pair of donkeys, along with Father Christmas too!

We also congratulated, during assembly, all the children who had achieved 100% attendance.  In addition, a girl and boy from each Key Stage were selected from a draw and given prizes, as they had earned a Green Card during break time or lunchtime for positive behaviour choices.  Well done to all of you for your achievements.

Then, from midday, Year 6 put on a number of exciting festive games for the rest of the whole school to enjoy.  Thank you Year 6 for the time and effort you had clearly put into these activities.  After working up an appetite, classes were called into the hall to enjoy their Christmas Lunch together.  It's such a treat to see everyone in such good spirits, pulling crackers and sharing jokes.  Thank you very much to all our lunchtime team, who worked so efficiently to serve so many lunches.

We look forward to our last two days, which are filled with even more fun treats.

  • Stable by Starlight

    Wed 19 Dec 2018 Mrs A Phillips
We were all treated to another beautiful version of the Christmas story when KS1 invited us to follow the special star as it lit the stable to celebrate the birth of the baby Jesus. It has been a magical two weeks of celebrations across the school thanks to our amazing children and families. Thank you everyone.
  • Born in a Barn

    Fri 14 Dec 2018 Mrs A Phillips
The whole school crept quietly into the Nursery this morning to enjoy the beautiful Christmas story, Born in a Barn, told by our youngest children from Nursery and Reception. Parents and friend had enjoyed the celebration yesterday and we were delighted to be able to visit the stable today. The children taught us a lovely song with actions so we could join in with them. It was a magical and very special morning.
  • Christmas Celebrations

    Wed 12 Dec 2018 Mrs A Phillips
It was so special to be able to start our two weeks of Christmas celebrations at St Marys' Church. Our junior children told the beautiful Russian tale of Babushka, and the congregation joined with us in singing traditional carols. It was a really lovely way to start Christmas. Thank you to all the families and friends that joined us to celebrate.
  • Congratulations

    Fri 07 Dec 2018 Mrs A Phillips

After a really fantastic week in school with so many children doing so many brilliant things it was a really difficult decision for staff to choose the children for a Headteacher Sticker. We all spent a bit of time thinking about how special the week had been for us all and both our individual and group achievements.

A fantastic group of children represented us at Athletics yesterday and performed superbly. We are awaiting the final result but are hoping that we might have made it through to the Herefordshire Winter Games.

    Congratulations to everyone.

  • Enrichment & Panto!

    Wed 05 Dec 2018 Mr D Perkins

On Tuesday, we held our second Enrichment Day.  You can see from the photos how much our children enjoy working in mixed aged groups on a range of activities.

Today the whole school enjoyed a pantomime visit, organised by the 'Friends' committee and hosted at Kington Town Football Club.  Thanks to the help of the children, we were able to help stop Long John Silver from taking the buried treasure for himself.  There was a lot of singing and laughing throughout.  Thank you again for your donations and to the Friends committee for organising this event again.

  • A very 'Christmassy' start to the week!

Tue 04 Dec 2018 Mrs Bretherton

On our first carol singing event of the season, a small group of Year 4 and 5 children were welcomed to Lynhales Hall Nursing Home in Lyonshall.  We shared lots of well-known carols with our lovely audience and even one of our Young Voices songs too.  Afterwards, the residents had prepared some gift bags for the children which they shared with us.  Thank you so much to all the staff and residents for making us feel so welcome.

Also, later that day, some of our Year 6 children were invited to help turn on the Kington Christmas lights.  Christmas has definitely begun!
