The children joined in sending Jon on his way as he began the next stage of his 5,000 mile charity motorbike ride around the UK mainland coast. We talked in assembly about Jon, a cancer sufferer, and the children held a special silver coin to think about the effects of cancer and how this bit of silver could help change peoples lives. Jon arrived in the playground accompanied by supporters on their quad bikes where the children chatted to him, filled his helmet with silver coins and wished him a successful journey. It was a noisy send off but a great one.

There were some very special visitors in school this morning. Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 1/2 were all so excited to meet a 5 week old kitten called 'Shadow' and five 2 week old ducklings. The children loved stroking and holding the animals, and learnt a lot about what it takes to look after them. We would all like to say a big 'Thank you' to Mr and Mrs Davies for bringing them in to meet us all!!

We have had such a busy but productive week in school and finished the week with our 'Headteacher stickers' assembly. This week we said "well done" to children for a variety of reasons including amazing writing, wonderful spelling, demonstrating superb friendship and showing enthusiasm for learning!  This week was a little different to normal as we also thanked and celebrated with our 3 student teachers from Worcester University. Miss O'Brien, Miss Smith and Mr Morgan are coming towards the end of their time with us and we all wanted to show how much we appreciate their hard work and commitment to our school.

A great afternoon of football with pupils, staff and Mums coming together to have fun while remembering the importance of football during WW1, both for the soldiers and the women  'Munitionettes' who kept the sport going while the men fought. A super event that brought the two school communities of Lady Hawkins and Kington Primary together to commemorate.

We had sunshine, showers, mist and midges! but a fantastic time was had by all. The children challenged themselves, supported each other and were amazed at what they could achieve. They were a real credit to themselves and the school. A brilliant Red Ridge Residential. More picture soon in the Gallery section.

Despite a chilly wind we had a really successful Sports Day with the children from Nursery all the way to Year Six taking part. They ran, jumped, threw, bounced and cheered. We were delighted to see so many parents and friends there to support and congratulate the winners of the individual class sports medals and Victix Ludorum Year Six girls accolade. The KS1 House Cup and the KS2 Shield were both won by Scotland but everyone was really amazing.
